Kat Movassaghi Establishes a Bequest to Support Future Kappa Delta Success

Kat Movassaghi Kat Movassaghi, Ed.D. (Epsilon-Louisiana State) knows the benefits of Kappa Delta last a lifetime, which is why she has created a bequest to assist future generations of KDs.

“I have always been sensitive to people who cannot afford special experiences,” Kat says. “I put myself through LSU and worked jobs to pay for living expenses. When I learned about the Dorothea Cavin Society, I thought, ‘Okay, this is one way that I can at least start to help other Kappa Deltas.’”

Currently Upper School Head at the Episcopal School of Acadiana, Kat has remained active in Kappa Delta throughout her career and has leaned on KD to help her in difficult times, such as dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic while she was in her school’s top leadership position.

“When I would question myself, I remember thinking I just have to look back at my sorority and the values the sorority has taught me,” she says.

Kat hopes her bequest will help future KDs succeed, especially those seeking to become tomorrow’s educators.

“I would love to establish a scholarship for young Kappa Deltas who are pursuing a career in education or some area of education,” she says.

She urges fellow KDs to join her in making a planned gift.

“Just do it!” Kat says. “It’s an intentional earmark toward a value system and a life. Kappa Delta is a place that I believe in.”
