After attending a small high school, a large state university came as a culture shock to Laura Brusca (Alpha Rho-Maryland). Thankfully, KD gave Laura new friends and a home-away-from-home, which is why she established a bequest in her will offering the same opportunities to future Kappa Deltas.
“Kappa Delta made me feel at home at a large university where it was easy to get lost and feel disconnected,” Laura recalls. “It was a positive place for my social energy and proved to be a great life-skill learning atmosphere and support system too.”
Since graduating and earning her MBA, Laura has remained involved with KD alongside her active business career and raising a family. She has led alumnae chapters in Florida and Maryland, served on the chapter advisory board at Towson University, and hosted KD events at her home.
“The endless calendar of fun social and philanthropic events has always given me something to look forward to,” she says.
Laura’s bequest shows her appreciation for her Kappa Delta experience and will offer the same benefits to tomorrow’s generations. She asks her fellow alumnae to consider doing the same.
“Think back to the role Kappa Delta played in your personal growth and happiness,” she says. “Here is an opportunity to leave your legacy and perpetuate the circle of sisterhood for other young women.”
